Birdseye View

We are so fortunate to live on a island like this. We have everything from majestic tropical mountains, beautiful beaches, tropical rainforests, active volcanoes and snow.

Even though I am from Hawai’i sometimes I forget to stop and enjoy the beauty. Unfortunately a lot of locals don’t carve out the time to enjoy the beauty the way tourists do. We are oftentimes caught up in a “rat race” just to make a living. [bypassing the beauty]

That is where being a drone pilot is such a blessing. It forces me to stop and take my time to explore. There are times when I flew up 200 feet and seen new perspectives on the same landscape. The perfect example is being in a wave versus looking at it from 350 feet up in the air. The colors are more complex. The grand portrait has more detail. From that height up you appreciate the contrast of colors more.

I can imagine an Iwa Bird (an amazing sea bird) witnessing the beauty like that every single day. Until the day that man can fly we will resort to machines of flight to get that perspective. I hope that you are able to enjoy this view in person one day. Until then enjoy the few pictures and be sure to follow @darealgreglopez on all social media to stay up to date on my “daily”.

Mahalo Nui Loa for taking the time to peek into my world. See you soon.
